Miesha Theresa

Miesha Theresa Tate is an American mixed martial art pundit. Also a former mixed martial arts artist. She had competed for the Ultimate Fighting Championship and is an ex- UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. Born in Tacoma and has been engaged in sports since her high school years. While she was studying at the Central Washington University, she was a member of the mixed martial arts club because it was recommended by one of her friends. At her first amateur match, she took on Elizabeth Posener (a Muay Thai expert) in her 20s. She made her debut as a professional in the HOOKnSHOOT Women's One-Night Grand Prix in 2007. Tate won her first FCF Women's Bantamweight Championship after two years. Tate received praise and admiration for her fighting style and her use of Brazilian jiu jitsu and wrestling. Her popularity increased when she won the 'Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion' shortly after. In addition to her mixed martial arts training, she appears on various web sites and publications such as "ESPN The Magazine" and "Fitness Gurls".
